School Closed for Summer

Our school is closed for the summer. The school office will re-open on August 19th to prepare for the new school year. The first day of classes will be September 1st!

SCHOOL COUNCIL/PARENT FUNDRAISING SOCIETY

An Aurora Parent Fundraising Society and the Aurora School Council will be organized in the early part of the school year and will have regular meetings throughout the year.  The committee is made up of parents and staff members.  The School Council will follow the guidelines and regulations established by Alberta Education.  We wish to encourage parents to become a part of these parent meetings and have a voice in discussions that focus on achieving our vision. 

 Our Aurora Middle School Parent Council is here to help support our school and our students. We need your help and encourage you to give your support to fundraising and other school activities that require parent involvement. Our goal is to give your children a safe and fun year. Please help us by getting involved in any way you can.  

What We Do:

Our goal is to give your children a safe and fun year.   We hold monthly meetings where we share information about the school, the activities taking place here at the school as well as make suggestions for possible improvements.   Our main goal is to support our school and our students to ensure that their experience here is a good one.  We regularly get involved and help with the Student Council School Spirit activities however we can.  We also have a fundraising society that helps provide services and resources to the students.  We need your help and encourage you to give your support to fundraising and other school activities that require parent involvement. 

The Funds raised by the Fund raising Society are used to:
-provide swimming lessons to students
- provide transportation for field trips
-purchase yearbooks as Farwell gifts for each grade 8 student and subsidize the cost for all other students.
- allow the school to purchase cafeteria lunchroom tables
- allowed school to purchase over 100 student use chromebooks
- help the school with purchase of sound and audio equipment
- help the school with the purchase of musical instruments
- provide students leadership opportunities
